Tacadang Travel Challenge Pt. 3…in Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet

Its the year of the Monkey, so are y’all ready to go ape?! Happy New Year, all~ How’d you ring in 2016? Mine was… uneventful, which means restful… which is a good thing, because if there’s one thing I would like to happen in the coming year, it is for me to have plenty of rest in between adventures. *crosses fingers* The last post I did was Part 2 of this Travel Challenge, and it also happened to be the 200th post I’ve made in this blog. Wow. 200. I hope I’ll be able to do 200 more. 🙂 Travel gods and fairies, be nice to me~

Tacadang Travel Challenge Pt. 2…in Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet

That one time in the year where we are allowed to be contemplative is here again: the coming of the New Year. For those who are still into making New Year resolutions, I say, “good for you”. For those who, like me, have stopped, and just relied on hoping for the best (haha!), I say, “yaaay for us!” But no, really, if you’re going to make plans for change, this is the best time for it. For me, personally, though, I’m just glad to be able to look forward to 2016. And continuing this series of posts on the Tacadang Travel Challenge.

Tacadang Travel Challenge Pt. 1…in Tacadang, Kibungan, Benguet

Christmas Day has passed, everyone! How did you spend it? I hope you had a good and meaningful Christmas, with the people who matter. I had a restful one, thank you for asking, and with the family, too, so all’s well! And it looks like this blog, too, had a bit of a rest period. And before the year is over, imma shake it up a bit! This time, with a series of posts about my last major climb/trek for 2015, in Tacadang, Kibungan.

Bauko, Mt. Province Pt 4: Pre-Begnas Activity Photodiary

This is actually an excuse to draw out my reminiscence of this experience (which I previously talked about here, here, and here) and to post some more pictures, haha! You see, I get a kick of going back to my blog entries at least six months after they have been posted, and I would like to reopen this post this September and relive it all over again.

Bauko, Mt. Province Pt 3: In and Around Bauko

Fact: Filipinos are more familiar with the name “Sagada” than “Mountain Province”. But, just as Benguet is more than Mt. Pulag and “La Presa“, Mountain Province still has a lot to offer. Considering the fact that this province has 10 municipalities, it is clear that Sagada isn’t the only “ace” around here.

Bauko, Mt. Province Pt 2: Mt. Polis, A View Deck in the Sky

Whoever said that one mountain is just like any other clearly does not know what he’s talking about. Or hasn’t gone to more than one mountain. Simple as that. I love how, despite experiencing something that is seemingly ordinary, we are still somehow given a surprise. It’s like the Creator is telling us, “So you think you’ve seen everything, huh? You think you’ve experienced the best and the finest. Well, I have a lot of aces up my sleeves to show you yet.” To which, I could only say, “that is one looooong sleeve you got there. BRING IT.” One of those aces, it turns out, is called Mt. Polis.

Bauko, Mt. Province Pt 1: Through The Spanish Trail

This was another one of those “ok, just tell me when and where, and what to bring, and I’ll be there” things. I didn’t know what event we’re actually joining. Just the mention of “let’s go to the mountains” made me take off like a shot. I then learned it was the Pre-Begnas Activity, which also includes the Lepas Fiesta. It entails trekking and camping, before joining the festivities the next day.
